For a London Market syndicate, JE consolidated data from more than 20 syndicates and seven legacy systems, some of which contained technology and records dating back to the 1980s. All information was migrated into a single platform capable of managing claims, accounting, and reporting under one integrated framework. This large-scale migration created a unified and modern environment, replacing multiple fragmented processes with a centralised system designed for efficiency and consistency.
Data quality was a central priority, particularly to ensure compatibility with incoming London Market message processing, compliance with reporting obligations, and accuracy in recovery calculations. This required extensive collaboration with the client to address incomplete or inconsistent information originating from unsupported and undocumented systems. Through systematic analysis, data mapping, and targeted remediation, the migrated dataset achieved the level of integrity needed to support business operations and regulatory requirements.
Over a ten-year period, two legacy systems, one bespoke and one unsupported, were used to manage contract and accounting data. As part of a systems transformation programme, data from both platforms was consolidated, cleansed, and migrated into a modern application framework integrated with a new reporting platform and general ledger system. This work improved transparency, auditability, and the overall reliability of financial information.
Significant data quality issues were addressed through detailed analysis and close collaboration with the client’s finance, operations, and IT teams. Historical anomalies in financial movements were investigated, root causes identified, and targeted solutions implemented at the correct process or system level. This approach resolved problems without restating closed financial years, safeguarding compliance and ensuring a stable foundation for future reporting and decision-making.

This upgrade positioned the reinsurer to leverage improved reporting capabilities, streamlined workflows, and enhanced compliance tracking on their new back-office platform.
